Myers-Briggs test

I just did this test from Jane's blog, I love these little quizzes. I was an INTJ and I thought the description was actually quite accurate. I kind of wish I'd done the test before I started university, maybe I would have taken a B.Sc. to start with.
Anyway, I know Paul was an ENFJ, but I think you all should take the test and tell me what you were.

as I said on Jane's blog, really not a surprise that you're a J there, eh?

Paul, my 'pedagogue' of humanity, how come you never use your phenomenal interpersonal skills and unique salesmanship on me?
really, i'm just kidding, i think yours is quite accurate, and mine too. it would be hard to believe any test that didn't give either of us a J. But don't you feel a little upset to have Ronald Reagan as a personality type mate?

Sarah, of course this is accurate, here's the part that deals with our relationship: "ENFPs have a great deal of zany charm, which can ingratiate them to the more stodgy types in spite of their unconventionality... ENFPs are at their most useful when working in a group with a J or two to take up the slack." And I'm calling you Captain Wildchild from now on. Or Balkie from Perfect Strangers! Now we do the dance of joy!

I am an ENFP. Did you ever notice that all the results in all the personality tests out there focus on the positives? That's why everyone is likely to say "Hey yeah, that description fits me to a tee" No one will be like "Hey, this test says that I'm an asshole, am I really an asshole?"

I'm pretty sure mine sez I'm an asshole, that's what the J means, no?

it's interesting to think about how I've changed since I last did the test, and how I really have switched in many respects to acting like an E and a J, from being an I and a P. I still think that these behavioural changes may reflect how we present ourselves (or, rather, how we like to think we present ourselves) rather than intrinsic changes, but it's close enough that it's still interesting.

neat.

not that I fully buy it yet though. that being the J coming out again...aaarrrgghhh!!!

Hey Paul did you post that three times for emphasis or what? Just kidding, but I have a serious question too. You said earlier that you weren't surprised that I was a J and then you said that J meant asshole. Are you calling me an asshole, asshole?
Colin, you are totally right and I was thinking the same thing as I was reading them, they actually reminded me a bit of a eulogy where they say stuff about you that's true but they put it in the most positive light. But come on, you have to put a little stock at least in a personality test where Sarah's evaluation uses the term Captain Wildchild!

Although now that I look at it again, I realise that you are in the same category as Sarah, Captain Wildchild!

sorry...didn't mean to post it three times, that's just how it worked out, alas.

and no, I'm not saying that you're an asshole, you [deleted]. I'm saying that J's have assoholic tendencies. no?

Jennifer said...

did the blog censor that? or are you just trying to keep me in suspense? if the blog sensored it, then write it with asterisks for vowels or something, i want to know what you said.

btw i know i have assholic tendancies i just like to see a good healthy back-pedal every once in a while, assholic of me isn't it!?

no, I deleted it myself, so I wouldn't get disembowelled next time I saw you and sarah. I decided to choose a much much worse word. then I decided that although you'd understand the joke, I wouldn't want that one attributed to me in print. fill in the blanks yourself, asshole.

So Aaron just did the test and got exactly the same category as me, INTJ. Do you think it's odd to be in a relationship with someone who is so like you? Narcisistic, I suppose, but I'm OK with that.
