On a lighter Katie note...
AI don't know if there's any point, because the borders may still be closed for a while, but Katie's birthday is coming up. So if anyone wants to send anything, I'll be mailing a package in the next little while.
It's much cheaper to send your stuff surface 2 months ahead of time, then to wait a month and send it by air. So, either I can put your stuff into my package if it's small, or this is a reminder to send it yourself. Get your asses in gear folks!

and on a lighter note, her luck seems to be about intact as we all remember it. I just received a letter from her, written on the 23rd, and after she talks about how she feels cut off from the news and the world so will share with me what is happening in Togo: "I don't think things under Eyadena are bad enough to motivate an uprising/revolution....That being said-it's rumored the EU is forcing/coercing Eyadena to hold elections this year-if that occurs-I don't know what will happen...."
sigh. Katie's bad luck will go so far as to off a world leader on her behalf.
Seriously! Could her luck be any worse?! I'm surprised the tsunami didn't extend into the Atlantic and devastate Togo as well, but I guess she was too far inland.
I suspect that they can kiss any hopes for those elections good-bye. Sigh.
