Really? I guess it's kind of sick, but on the other hand, I'd like the Americans and Brits to see what their government is doing to people. It's a lot harder to turn a blind eye to something when you've seen it played out on TV and seen the effects on people who are just like you.

seriously though, executions were always one of the biggest public entertainments around. the reason executions are now held behind closed doors was the english authorities decided in the 19th century (I think) that it was too much of a crowd control problem to keep having them in the open. creepy...
Do you remember when they executed Ted Bundy? There was one radio dj who fried bacon on the radio whenever he discussed the execution and said, "Fry baby, fry!"
