Police in Halifax have busted an operation that sent dealers to people's homes to deliver telephone orders of crack cocaine, magic mushrooms and other drugs.
Fifteen people were arrested early Monday after a five-month investigation by the combined RCMP and Halifax Regional Police drug unit.
Investigators estimate the highly organized "dial-a-dope" dealers were receiving and filling hundreds of telephone orders per week.
Supt. Fred Sanford of the Halifax Regional Police said this kind of operation is "new in our area, but it has been discovered in other parts of Canada."
Officers conducted 10 raids starting at 6:30 a.m. Monday.
In addition to crack, cocaine, magic mushrooms and ecstasy, police seized several vehicles and about $30,000 in cash.
They say more arrests are possible as the evidence seized is examined.

This useful service also exists in NYC.
Not that I know anything about it, of course.
