Have you had your shots?

Seriously, you should check if your shots are up to date. Nobody wants to catch polio!

Polio cases rise in Indonesia

The number of children infected by a polio outbreak in Indonesia has jumped to 111.

The World Health Organization has confirmed another 32 new cases Tuesday, in the country's first contact with the disease in almost 10 years.

The spread of the disease comes despite a massive immunization campaign that has reached millions of children.

Most of the new cases are in the western region of Java island, close to where the original outbreak was identified in May.

Some have occurred outside areas targeted for vaccines, indicating the disease is reaching further afield.

Indonesia's Health Ministry confirmed this week that a child on Indonesia's Sumatra island had tested positive for polio, marking the first case of the disease outside the main island of Java.

It is hoped a further 24 million children will be immunized in August and September.
