Got a library card? Check out a gay person!

A new program at a small community library in Sweden will allow patrons tocheck out a real live gay or lesbian person for forty-five minutes ofconversation. Part of the library's "Borrow a Bias" project, the chatsessions are intended to cure the un- or mis-informed of their prejudices. As 365Gay.com reports, Sweden recognizes same-sex couples' right to civilunion and to adoption, but many people in the country's smallercommunities are ignorant about gay issues. The other minorities on loanwill include an imam, a Muslim woman, a journalist, an animal rightsactivist, a Dane, and a Romany or Gypsy.
