Man gunned down in drive-byFour suspects in SUV sought

Hey Sly, what do you think of Kevlar as a fashion statement? It's practical, it's functional, and bullet wounds are so last week.
NAOMI CARNIOL AND NELIA RAPOSOSTAFF REPORTERSHomicide detectives are on the scene of the city’s latest gun slaying after a 23-year-old man was shot in the head in Toronto’s downtown core.
This latest shooting, the 44th homicide of the year, happened at Sherbourne and Wellesley Sts. shortly after 3 a.m., police said.
Residents in the area had mixed reactions to the latest shooting.
Abdul, who declined to give his last name, said he’s not surprised. “I’m used to it here,” he said. “It’s become part of the vibe.”
Lisa Bajaoisam lives in an apartment building next to where the shooting occurred. She says she’s afraid. “I’m even scared to walk to the subway. It’s only 10 minutes away.”
The victim was rushed to St. Michael's hospital in critical condition.
“He was unconscious,” Acting Staff Sgt. Mark Harvey, of 51 Division, said of the victim. Around 6 a.m. Homicide Det. Dan Sheppard confirmed the victim died.
Witnesses told police that shots were fired from the back seat of a large black or navy blue SUV, possibly a GMC Yukon, with four male occupants. The shooter was apparently wearing a white bandana.
A white Nissan may also be connected to the case. Police believe the occupants of the Nissan knew those in the SUV.
Police were out in full force looking for suspects last night. At one point the Don Valley Parkway was shut down as police searched it.
A white Nissan was pulled over by police on the parkway and subsequently released.
“The crime scene is cordoned off right now,” Harvey said. The intersection of Sherbourne and Wellesley was still closed to traffic at 6 a.m. this morning.
This is the fourth shooting this weekend. On Saturday, a 28-year-old father was shot dead at an Etobicoke park, while two teenage boys were wounded in Scarborough the same night.
This most recent deadly shooting happened very close to the Phoenix Concert Theatre were two men were killed days ago. Loyan Ahmed Gilao, 23 and Ali Mohamud Ali, 19 were shot after leaving the nightclub in the early morning hours of Aug. 8.

Oh My god...This is CRAZY...what the hell is going on down there? Is it safe to say that we're turning ourselves into a nation of gun loving criminals? 44 deaths already, and 10 percent of them happened this past week. It's shocking.....

Sly, be safe down there....jesus christ...that's where you LIVE...
