Happy Gay Pride

I think this was the best thing that happened all day. I was kind of surprised when we turned a corner, leaving the gay pride festivities and saw a protester with some jesus bullshit on a sign. But then I saw the guy next to him with a sign saying that jesus man's sign was 'gay' and it made it all better.

Thats funny! Its remarkably similar to a sign some lady was carrying around on Freemont St. in Las Vegas. Maybe they are related, or belong to the same religiously sanctioned hatred-cult.

Oh NO!!! Thats so rude. its almost 2007!!! i cant believe people think like that still....

But, if his sign wasnt scary enough, his grammar certainly is!!!

Heather, I think I may have seen the same sign or one like it on Freemont.

PP, I actually must admit that, for once, I wasn't the first person to notice the grammar mistakes. In fact, I didn't really read the sign very closely at all because I was too busy trying to get good pictures of it. But the grammar really blew Ashley's mind. It's understandable I guess, you'd have to be pretty stupid to think that you'd be able to change anyone's mind by standing at gay pride with an illiterate sign, therefore you aren't able to put together a literate sign. If I was going to stand there all day, I'd make sure my sign was convincing, understandable, clear. On the other hand, maybe he assumed that no one would be swayed and, like me,would stop reading as soon as they saw the word jesus.
And, you're right, it's upsetting that so much time has passed and we still have people like this joker around, but I'm kind of glad he was there. When you live in the heart of gay town, and everyone you know is supportive of equal rights, gay positive, etc etc, it's easy to become complacent and not get out there and write to your member of parliament about gay marriage and the right of same sex parents to adopt children. You lull yourself into thinking that if you do nothing that these things will just happen anyway, because you don't know anyone who thinks it's a bad idea.
That reminds me, the Toronto Humane Society had the cutest sign. It said something like, 'we support gay adoptions.' Get it? Gay people adopting pets from the Humane Society? I giggled.

I noticed!!! Horray me!

I think you should send in the top picture with a letter to the editor...saying that being 2006(and a half) I think that learning to speak properly, and good grammar is way more important in an increasingly illiterate society, and that this person should concern themselves with their own well being before they start an anit-gay campaign.

Ash, his sign was brilliant, while you were taking pictures I went and told him that I thought he was hilarious and to keep up the good work.
BB, you are so right!

I love the guy next to him whose sign says, "His sign is gay!" lol

There is a guy like this in my town. Every Sunday he and his 2 sons walk a particular corner on a very busy main road here wearing sandwhich boards that quote bible passages and various things about homosexuals are going to hell.

The guy is such a moron.
