Witnessing extreme eye damage on the way to work, not my idea of a good time...

Living in an area of high population density sometimes leads you to see things, that other people just aren't supposed to see. Sometimes it's not so bad, like my neighbour who always seems to be having sex with his girlfriend with the curtains open every time we have a party. But sometimes, well, sometimes you'd rather not see it.
This morning it was a pretty mild example. A girl near me on the subway car was putting on her make-up. That would have been just fine with me if it was blush or lipstick, but no, it was eye make-up. When I got on she had the eyelash curler out, and I thought it was pretty dangerous, but didn't think too much about it. Then for the next several stops, she upped the ante. Next she cracked out the eye pencil, then the mascara with that pointy wand, then she spent about 3 stopps with some very sharp tweezers poised millimetres from her eyeballs. Everytime the subway car jerked or stopped suddenly I cringed. It was like watching figure skating, I spent the entire subway ride waiting for her to poke her eye out and for blood to spurt everywhere.

Hah!

The only thing worse might have been had she been tweezing out ear or nose hairs, as men of a certain age need to do.
