Notes from Quebec
Just a quick post from the NDP convention . . .
I know this is a horribly geeky thing to admit, but I've always wanted to go to a political convention, ever since I was a little kid watching them on TV. Yes, I sat in front of a TV as a child watching political conventions. I've been embarrassingly excited all summer. All I can say about actually being here, is that it's everything I thought it would be.
We're in Quebec city, we came in last night on the longest Via passenger train ever. The train was so long that they had to split the train in half outside of the station and pull the two halves in on either side of the platform.
Today, I saw Stephen Lewis speak, I've read a lot of his stuff, but I'd never seen him speak live before. The man is truly amazing. I don't know how he does his job, if it was me I think I'd lose my mind.

when are you back from québec? we need to talk about togo; are we going or what? inquiring minds want to know.
First of all could you please correct your spelling on the blog, luv. It's "lose" your mind, not loose. Perhaps your mind will be loose if you and Tokyo Tintin are really keen to go to Togo. I keep telling you. Both of you meet her half way in Paris. Ciao for now. G.F.
In my own defence, I'd like to point out that I was drunk when I wrote the two most recent posts. Politics and booze just seem to go hand in hand.
So I spelled 'lose' as 'loose' - but you didn't even notice that I called this first post 'Notes from Quebec' and I called the next post 'Notes from Quebec III ... in conclusion.'
And as you'll recall, from the fabulous pictures I sent around, that I went to Paris last year.
