Back to the rat race and the simulated rat race....

I'm starting a new job today, but don't bother asking me about it as if I'm excited, because I'm not. I hate settling in. Meeting everyone, learning how to do the job, being nicey nicey, bleh.
I also got a copy of the Sims, the game where you create a family and guide them through their daily routine. It's so funny how addictive it is. The BF kept coming in all weekend and commenting on what crap I had on the TV next to my computer, I was so totally engrossed in the game that I had no idea what show I was watching. I forgot to eat, I didn't forget, my hunger was a way lower priority than making sure my Sims ate.

There was a time when Melissa and I also would stay up till the wee hours of the morning feeding our sims....so strange.

As for the new job, don't you already know most of the people there so you can be your old crotchity self?

I played it a few times back in undergrad... it was totally addictive. Very scary.

I once bought the Sims a few years ago. I fed them, bathed them, took care of their needs and whatnot. But when I tried to make an advance on this Sims chick, she denied me. I tried so many times to kiss her but she wouldnt. I tried many different things, like first taking her on a date, being nice, waiting half and hour etc etc but the bitch wouldnt budge. Thats when I gave up that stupid game. I felt cheated cuz the promo showed the boy kissing the girl.

Yrautca, it's amazing how perfectly a video game can mirror real life...
